Mountain Biking Skills Course at Riverside Park
Thanks to the hard work of community volunteers, Searcy has a new Mountain Biking Skills Course at Riverside Park.
The skills course features multiple rollers to help build momentum, four berms to help carry speed through tight corners, a series of rock passes, a teeter totter to help develop controlled speed and balance, four wooden bridges of various heights and styles, and a dedicated skinny line for advanced riders to test your balance and control. All rock features can be avoided if the rider is not comfortable or at that skill level. There is a more advanced section for riders wanting to further develop skills found on more difficult trails including three drops of various heights and styles. One with two large inline rollers. There is a table top jump as well divided into two different heights (a short side for beginners and a taller side for more advanced riders) with a wooden platform to drop into the jumps to generate necessary speed. The goal of the skills course is to help riders of all ages and levels develop the skills needed to successfully and safely navigate most mountain bike trails they will encounter.
Funds for the course were provided by the Searcy A&P Commission.
